USB-C actually ramps up voltage at higher charge rates. 100W is possible only at 19V. I suspect the 240 mode pushes 48V, the absolute maximum you can push out and still be considered "low voltage". More Voltage - danger zone - More amps you melt the cable. So 240W is the limit. I'm all in the Type-C train. I'm never going to touch Micro-USB on phones ever again. It's too convenient and, as this video proves, durable. If on the off chance I don't have any Type-C cables, I keep a B-C adapter I keep in my wallet, that works with everything even QuickCharge. Pricy at first glance but from my massive cable haul they're the only ones that survived. And oddly enough it was used the most in car and home too. Anker died first, belkin second, native union third and Nomad is still going. Got an OEM apple cable too so they last me great but it's looking like it won't last quite as long. If you want an extremely durable cable, you may have to diy. Otherwise, you can just focus on treating your cables like they're fragile wires with little plugs soldered to each end. I haven't had a bad cable in years, and I too once thought I was just dealing with cheaply made cables. Again, diy might be an avenue you could explore. . 327 132 175 254 1 107 365 451
